1. Overview

This Cookie Policy explains the storage technologies and tracking technologies actually used by EuroRadios. EuroRadios uses local storage (browser-based storage) rather than third-party tracking cookies for its core functionality. No technology outside the categories described below is loaded.

2. Strictly Necessary

These technologies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.

Purpose: Authentication session, country/language/theme selection, consent storage, favourites, listening history, and core platform features. Provider: EuroRadios (first-party local storage). Duration: Persistent until you clear browser storage. Type: First-party local storage.

Specific local storage keys used by EuroRadios:

er_last_country — your last-selected country (so returning visits honour your choice).
er_cookie_consent — your consent state and consent version.
er_consent_id — an anonymous identifier used only to correlate your consent renewals (not a user account).
er_last_lang — your last-selected interface language.
er_theme — your preferred theme (light/dark/system).
er_favorites — your saved favourite stations.
er_ad_session — an anonymous session identifier for ad frequency capping.
er_player — current player state (volume, last station).

Authentication and account data (favourites, listening history) are also tied to your account and stored server-side by EuroRadios.

3. Preferences

These technologies remember your preferences and settings.

Purpose: Remember your selected country, language, theme, and playback preferences. Provider: EuroRadios (first-party local storage). Duration: Persistent until cleared. Type: First-party local storage.

Preference storage is part of the Strictly Necessary category because the platform cannot function correctly without remembering your basic settings.

4. Analytics

Analytics are disabled by default. Even when EuroRadios enables analytics, no analytics event is sent until you grant Analytics consent.

Purpose: Understand aggregate usage to improve the platform. Provider: Base44 platform analytics (first-party to EuroRadios) and/or Google Analytics (third-party). Duration: Only while analytics is enabled by EuroRadios AND you have granted Analytics consent. Type: First-party and/or third-party analytics.

If you do not consent, or you later withdraw consent, no analytics technology runs. You can change your choice at any time via Cookie Preferences in the footer.

5. Advertising

EuroRadios may display advertisements. Advertising technologies work as follows:

Purpose: Display relevant advertisements and measure ad performance (impressions, clicks). Provider: EuroRadios Direct (first-party), Google AdSense (third-party, where enabled). Duration: Ad frequency capping data is stored in local storage (er_ad_session) and is anonymous. Type: First-party frequency capping + third-party ad serving (Google AdSense).

Important distinctions:

Ad frequency capping uses an anonymous session hash stored in local storage. If you are logged in, your user ID is used instead. No email, name, or phone is sent to advertising providers.
Premium listeners are excluded from all advertising (both display and audio pre-roll).
Audio pre-roll ads may play before a radio stream. A user-level frequency cap (default: 1 ad per 60 minutes) applies across all stations. The cap timer starts when an ad is delivered; station switching does not reset it.
EuroRadios does not use advertising cookies for cross-site tracking or personalised ad profiling. Google AdSense, where used, may set its own cookies subject to Google's privacy policy and your Google ad settings.

6. Managing and Withdrawing Consent

You can change or withdraw your consent choices at any time via Cookie Preferences in the footer. Withdrawing consent clears your stored choice so no optional technology remains authorised, and the consent banner re-appears on your next visit.

You can also clear all local storage data through your browser settings.

7. Consent Versioning

When this Cookie Policy or the consent configuration materially changes, EuroRadios increments the consent version. A version change invalidates your previous consent choice, and you will be asked again. Outdated consent is never silently preserved.

8. Third-Party Radio Streams

EuroRadios embeds and links to third-party radio station streams. These streams are served by their respective broadcasters, who may set their own cookies or tracking technologies. EuroRadios does not control these third-party technologies. You should review the privacy policies of individual radio stations.

9. No Fabricated Tracking

EuroRadios does not claim to use, and does not load, any cookie or tracking technology not described in this policy. If the technologies used by EuroRadios change, this policy and the consent version will be updated accordingly.
